A previous meeting of the Derry DPP in the Guildhall had to be abandoned Derry District Policing Partnership, has agreed a date for its next meeting after a dispute between its members on how to handle dissidents.
In March the DPP met in private but failed to set a date.
The meeting will be held on 14 April in St Canice's Church Hall beside Eglinton Health Centre at 1900 BST.
A newspaper notice said members of the public would have the opportunity to ask questions of the PSNI area commander.
Several DPP meetings in Derry have faced disruption, including one in November 2010 which had to be abandoned because of a dissident republican protest.
Around 50 protestors disrupted the meeting in the Guildhall, blowing whistles and chanting slogans.
Each district policing partnership is required to hold six public meetings each year.
